Philip has set aside some time every fortnight for a visit to Balga. As Philip says, “you can ask for advice or assistance for any PD related problems that you may have ( and that I am able to answer)”. We’re not sure whether to set up a booking system or to run things on an ad hoc basis but he will be here on either side of 12 pm so that am and pm teachers can see him.

The city have now set up a blog of their own and there will no doubt be items of interest for us too. The address is http://amescity.blogspot.com Adriaan Loosjes has also put up a web site for community teachers but it requires a password so anyone who wants to view it can let me know and I’ll obtain permission from Adriaan.

Prepared and submitted by Sophie Burrows and Philip Nichols

One project was successful for the Pave the Way grants:
1. Entree to work - enabling migrant workers to discover their vocational pathway Prepared and submitted by Sophie Burrows and Cathy Domahidy
2. Glistening Waters - Interpretive walk trails within the City of Joondalup (Certificate II in CLM for Adult Indigenous students) Prepared and submitted by John Robertson, Paul Hill, Darren Davies and Merilyn Hall, with support form the General Studies team.
Congratulations to all involved in securing funding for these valuable VET programs.

Working with Children Legislation. This is on hold for now, while the College investigates a possible exemption for AMES because we have no students under 18 years of age.
