Staff Meeting. Thanks to all the casuals for a great turnout- everyone was present for the first time and we had 20 staff altogether. You will be pleased to know that the pay rate is now 1.5 hrs at teaching rate rather than 2 hrs at special duties rate. Those who went to moderation will be paid 3 hrs at special duties rate.

DIMA has rethought their new acronym. It will now be known as the Department of Immigration And Citizenship (DIAC), to be pronounced Dye-ack. That sounds better!

Some staff expressed interest in viewing more of the DVD "Into Learning" which was shown by Sue Shaw in PD week. The DVD shows how several AMES - VIC teachers deal with low level classes. There is now one copy of this DVD in the staff Library in the Victoria where it can be viewed. If staff at Balga or Fremantle wish to view it, can you please contact Ingrid for a short-term loan.
